Stranger 15. I’m very interested in a particular coaching company who specialize in enlightened leadership and work with companies around the world. Their CEO has a background in neuroscience and the company is actively involved in research projects and collaborations.
I would love to learn from this company, I would also love to be a part of this company!
So I recently called them up and spoke to the CEO – I really wasn’t expecting him to pick up the phone! – and asked him if he would mentor me, with a view to becoming part of his company at some point in the future.
He didn’t say yes. And he didn’t say No….
After a brief chat he asked me to email the Director of the company and explain my request to her. Like a kid full of sugar I got straight on it.
She has since replied explaining they don’t run an associate model – so there’s my No.
And yet……she’s very happy to meet with me to see if there might be opportunities in the future. We’re currently organizing a time to meet.
This has been a big one for me. Experiencing fear (my heart was beating a little faster on that phone call) understanding that feeling of fear, as compelling as it may seem, is an illusion and therefore stepping past it to ask congruently for what you want continues to open my eyes to what is really possible.
I’m excited to see how this story unfolds……
